Nick Myers moves up to CSO in triple Oliver promotion

oliver trioGlobal in-housing specialist Oliver has promoted head of planning Nick Myers to the role of chief strategy officer as part of a shake-up of its planning team which also sees Alec Barr and Katie Craig move up to senior roles.

Myers (pictured, left), who will report into UK CEO Amina Folarin, started his career in 2002 as an account executive at Harrison Troughton Wunderman and switched to CHI & Partners as an account manager two years later.

He then moved client side to Direct Line as marketing manager before joining Proximity London, where he stayed for over eight years, ultimately as planning director. In 2016, he set up his own consultancy, Loveable, and joined Oliver in February 2020 as planning partner.

Barr (pictured, middle), previously a UX consultant at Oliver, steps into a newly created role as head of behavioural science & UX. He brings a wealth of expertise in applied behavioural psychology, user experience, and technology ethics, making him instrumental in enhancing Oliver’s client services.

Barr’s experience aligns with the agency’s mission to deliver human-centred and data-driven solutions for clients.

Finally, Craig (pictured, right) assumes the role of planning partner, stepping up from planning director. She started her career at Publicis as a strategist in 2010, then had spells at Proximity, Lida and TMW, before joining Oliver in November 2019. According to LinkedIn, Craig is currently working in-house at Barclays.

The promotions are part of an ongoing growth plan and are claimed to signal a commitment to evolving Oliver’s strategic planning services, and enhancing the experiences it creates for clients.

Myers said: “I am both humbled and excited to step into the role of chief strategy officer. Our mission has always been to stay ahead of the curve, and I am eager to continue driving forward-thinking strategies that benefit our clients while driving positive change.”

Amina Folarin, who was promoted from HR chief to CEO in 2022, added: “We are thrilled to see Nick and Katie step into these new roles and to welcome Alec on board permanently. Their combined expertise will undoubtedly elevate our strategic offerings, helping us deliver even more impactful results for our clients.”
