Call Centre Nev faces court threat

Call centre nev faces court actionBBC Call Centre boss Nev Wilshire is facing highly damaging court action after it was revealed an insulation firm he was linked to faces prosecution over a pensioner’s death at Manchester Crown Court next month.
HIS Energy, a subsidiary of Save Britain Money – which went into liquidation last year – will go on trial after a pensioner died from carbon monoxide poisoning. Joyce Moore, 83, died at her home in Middleton, in Greater Manchester, in October 2012.
The Health & Safety Executive alleges the company blocked the boiler flue while installing cavity wall insulation. A spokesman for the Cabinet Office said: “The company has been charged with breaching Section 3(1) of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 by failing to ensure Mrs Moore’s safety.”
The move comes at the GMB union is seeking to recover £30,000 owed to workers in Abertillery, sacked last year after the closure of another firm owned by Willshire.
UnionLine has been instructed by the GMB to pursue an aggressive debt recovery strategy to ensure former employees of RIS Insulation Ltd in Abertillery are paid debts they are owed.
The union claims Wilshire took over RIS Insulation, a loft and cavity wall insulation specialist, in August 2013 and shut it on October 30 with immediate effect and with no consultation.
A statement issued by Wilshire at the time said: “The directors can confirm that the salaries due from October were paid on time and that they are currently working to collect invoices due to them in order that redundancy payments can be calculated and processed. We will keep in touch during this period to advise the individuals concerned of likely timescales.”
The GMB claims that, as of January 20 2015, staff have received no letters or had any contact whatsoever.
