Emphasizing a group cast, the film is around a youthful white lady, Eugenia “Skeeter” Phelan, and her association with two dark cleaning specialists, Aibileen Clark and Minny Jackson, amid the Civil Rights period in 1963 Jackson, Mississippi. Skeeter is a writer who chooses to compose a book from the perspective of the house keepers (alluded to as “the help”), uncovering the prejudice they are confronted with as they work for white families.
