M&S is targeting Sparks loyalty club members with the launch of a pilot premium paid-for tier which is claimed to offer a “VIP experience” and includes unlimited delivery, monthly vouchers and free hot drinks.
The new subscription service, dubbed Sparks Plus, is initially being offered a select number of members and requires an upfront fee of £120 for 12 months but with perks worth over £200 on top of existing Sparks benefits.
Membership includes a monthly £10 voucher, unlimited next-day delivery, and a free monthly hot drink from any M&S café. Members will also receive special gifts, invites to store events, double charity donations and other exclusive benefits.
This is not the only addition to the Sparks loyalty scheme M&S has launched in recent months. It unveiled Sparks Pay in October last year, which allows users to borrow up to £500 for their shopping.
In the UK, the retailer claims the programme has more than doubled its base to 16 million-plus members since it was relaunched in 2020.
The Sparks Plus pilot follows the expansion of Sparks into a global programme, launching across India and 25 international markets, including the US and Australia.
In line with the UK scheme, every international customer will have access to the core Sparks offer, including a personalised programme of deals and rewards.
The retailer claims to have “custom built” its international online Sparks platform to be scalable across multiple markets, enabling M&S to better understand its global customer base.
