5 – ROSE
There are over a hundred species of Rose in the world. Most species are native to Asia, with smaller numbers native to Europe, North America, and northwestern Africa.
Roses are widely used across the world as symbols of love, sympathy or sorrow.
In the United States, French rose syrup is used to make rose scones and marshmallows.
In the Indian subcontinent Rooh Afza, a concentrated squash made with roses, is popular, as well as rose-flavored ice creame and kulfi.
