Medialab Group has appointed its first ever commercial director, handing the role to former Capital One and Starcom MediaVest chief Kirsty Spickett, with a brief to work with existing clients and the agency leadership team to unlock revenue growth.
Spickett brings more than 15 years’ experience in the financial services, travel and pharmaceuticals sector, having built the performance marketing division at Starcom MediaVest Group.
Prior to that, Spickett worked at Capital One, transforming the marketing operations into an advanced digital acquisition operation.
She joins from Blenheim Chalcot, a private equity company, where she led marketing and communications for a number of its ventures.
Spickett will report to chief executive Marcus Orme, who said: “Kirsty has a reputation for understanding partners’ needs and creating media/marketing solutions to deliver successful outcomes. Coupled with her expertise in client-side marketing, this makes her a perfect fit for the newly created commercial director role.”
Spickett added: “I’m looking forward to the challenge. I believe we have the passion, creativity and the data and technology to make a difference and to be the partners that our clients need.”
A keen advocate for businesses that embrace diversity, Spickett is also a founding member of ‘Bloom’, a mentoring, networking and fundraising group for women in the communications industry.
