Medialab appears to have fought off the Covid hell which is ravaging most agencies with a major recruitment drive to support and strengthen its data marketing partnership capabilities.
Following a year of strong growth in 2019, Medialab has created an integrated data and performance leadership team, with several new hires, and a new addition to the board to reaffirm’s the business’ commitment to growth in 2020 and beyond.
At the heart of the strategy is the creation of three new data and performance leadership roles, spearheaded by Gary Holladay, who joins as head of data solutions from Eurostar, where he was lead data architect.
Holladay, who has also held senior data roles at Zilliant, Glue Reply and Cinesite, has helped businesses transition from legacy systems to new tech platforms and has led digital data integrations to create more effective marketing.
Tony Oakley, who steps into the role of head of analytics, will work alongside Holladay and manage Medialab’s proprietary data marketing platform Apollo, which is designed to give marketers the power to understand the value of their marketing channels both individually and collectively.
Oakley joined Medialab in 2018 from MC&C (now the Kite Factory) and was most recently head of digital. He has also had spells at MEC, Total Media and PHD.
Completing the team is Stephen Brett, who joins Medialab as head of performance from M/Six, where he was biddable director. Acting as strategic support for the client teams, Brett will provide support and expertise in maintaining best practice and keeping abreast of industry and tech developments. Like Oakley, Brett has also worked at PHD, as well as at Fetch and Steak.
In addition, Medialab director of growth Suzy Jordan has been appointed to the board, having joined the organisation a year ago. Formerly client managing director at Carat UK, she will play an instrumental role in driving Medialab’s growth agenda and in the company’s development, both commercially and culturally.
These appointments build on the recent appointments of former Starcom MediaVest planning chief Amice Lock as non-executive and ex-Starcom and Publicis Media boss executive Steve Parker as executive director.
Medialab chief executive Marcus Orme (pictured) said: “These leadership appointments are a key indicator of our commitment to a long-term growth strategy. Investment in industry leading talent is, and will be, a key pillar of our continued success, and in doing so we are able to provide the best data driven solutions for our partners.
“Throughout this pandemic, it has been more important than ever to support our client partners and help them gain and grow valuable customers.”
