Dodds moves up again as Proximity shuffles top roles

Mike-Dodds-and-Doug-WorpleMike Dodds’ meteoric rise up the Proximity ranks has hit even dizzier heights, with the former London boss now being handed the role of global chief executive of the Omnicom agency.
Dodds, who was promoted to global president in 2017, succeeds Doug Worple, who has taken on the role of global chairman. Dodds will continue to report to Worple, who reports to Omnicom Precision Marketing Group CEO Luke Taylor.
The new roles will see Dodds focus on the performance of the current global network, which has 23 offices in 21 countries, while Worple will lead acquisitions, partnerships and service.
Dodds joined Proximity London from OgilvyOne in 2008 and took on the job of managing director of the network’s European region in January 2015. He relinquished the role of London CEO in July 2016, handing the baton over to managing director Gabrielle Ludzker.
Worple founded Barefoot in 1993; the agency was acquired by Omnicom in 2008 and rebranded Barefoot Proximity. He has served on the Proximity Worldwide executive team since then.
Taylor said: “Proximity is a fantastic network with a deep leadership bench that allows us to make a change like this one. Moving Doug and Mike into these new roles will allow Proximity to develop and deepen existing relationships and deliver true realtime personalisation at scale across all major markets.”
