Digitas tightens grip on E.On account with new brief

eon_1Energy giant E.On has expanded its relationship with Digitas UK, 18 months after it became the brand’s digital experience agency of record, by awarding the Publicis shop its performance media services brief following a competitive pitch.

Digitas was first appointed to handle E.On’s digital services in January 2020, and has since co-defined a digital experience vision and delivered multiple product updates for the brand’s consumer app.

The app provides E.On’s customers with a self-service capability and energy usage information; it also provides E.On with a direct channel for consumer engagement.

Digitas was also a key factor in E.On’s decision to appoint Publicis sister agency Starcom to handle its media activity across eight major European markets through the “Power of One” data-driven marketing model.

The agency has now been brought on board to work across a range of digital touchpoints which support E.On’s energy supply, heating, solar and battery products for both residential and business consumers. Digitas will be working with E.On from this month, focusing on performance media, in tandem with a comprehensive end-to-end audit across all digital touchpoints.

E.On UK head of brand and marketing Scott Somerville said: “Working together with Digitas, we will ensure E.On customers and prospects are delighted with the experience they encounter at all touchpoints with our brand, and we will fully integrate communications as we seek to build ever closer relationships with our customers.”

Digitas UK chief media officer Andrew Mason added: “We’re very pleased to be growing our relationship with E.On, continuing to help them build out their existing digital experiences with performance media – it’s a natural extension for us.

“With huge shifts in the wider energy market, squeezed margins and high customer expectations, it’s more important than ever to drive cut-through and to take customers on a seamless, enjoyable journey.”
