Havas new business queen Tracey Barber has been rewarded once more for her sterling work for the agency group by being handed the role of global chief marketing officer.
Her promotion comes just over 12 months after the French-owned marketing giant gave Barber a remit to cover marketing, new business and PR activity for all UK agencies within the group, including direct marketing, advertising and media shops.
Since then the group has picked up major CRM accounts for Comparethemarket, Lloyds Banking Group, Starbucks, and Open University, as well as twin wins for the Department for Education and the Giffgaff media business.
As global chief marketing officer, Barber will deliver new business best practice, tools and expertise for the Havas creative network, including US-based agency Arnold.
Havas’ creative network global chief executive Chris Hirst said: “Fundamentally, there are only really two things the best businesses such as ours have to do better than the rest: win pitches and have happy clients. Everything else will follow. And Tracey’s got the former nailed.
“Her record in the UK speaks for itself and I can’t think of anyone better to support our teams to deliver the same success across the rest of the world.”
Having started her career at Lowe Howard-Spink in the late Eighties, Barber then had spells at Cogent and client-side at Lloyds before joining Havas Helia – then known as EHS 4D Group – as group marketing director. In 2011, she switched to Kitcatt Nohr, but was lured back into the Havas fold in 2014; within a year she was promoted to cover Havas Worldwide and Havas Work Club, too.
