Amanda Phillips nets Jaguar Land Rover global role

jaguar-2British Airways’ global marketing content chief Amanda Phillips has left the airline after just nine months to take up a top marketing role at Jaguar Land Rover.
The former chief executive of Proximity London has joined the car giant this week to become general manager of demand creation for global marketing and will work across both Jaguar and Land Rover brands.
Lida has worked on CRM in the UK for Land Rover since August 2013, capturing the business in a three-way shoot-out with OgilvyOne and Publicis Chemistry. The rest of the business is now run by an in-house agency called Spark44.
Phillips will lead the marketing analytics team, and work closely with marketing communications, CRM, global sales and agencies, as well as regional marketing teams, ensuring delivery of strategy, planning and communications.
She started her career at WWAV (now Rapp) in 1989, eventually joining Joshua in 1996, where she took on the role of chief operating officer.
amandaBy 2000, Phillips had switched to McCann Relationship Marketing as managing director; working closely with Tim Hipperson, who was eventually promoted to chief executive. Phillips was CEO of Proximity between January 2004 and December 2008, but left soon after it merged with Craik Jones.
She then spent time as a non-executive director of Volume, continuing in the role despite co-launching An Abundance with former Personal chief Chris Ward in February 2011. However, she quit within 12 months to become managing director of digital agency Volume.
Since 2014, Phillips has worked at both Hibu – the company behind Yellow Pages and Millward Brown. She only joined BA in March last year.
Her exit coincided with the departure of BA head of marketing, loyalty, retail and direct channelss Sara Dunham, who left in December having spent over 15 years at the airline.
